Eight hikers went to the Bijia Lianfeng mountain area in Shiding District, New Taipei City, today (the 18th). During the climb, they were struck by lightning. One female hiker is suspected of suffering from heatstroke, experiencing general weakness and inability to walk. The New Taipei City Fire Department received the report around 11 a.m. and immediately dispatched personnel to assist on the mountain. All eight individuals are currently out of life-threatening danger, and efforts are underway to help them descend the mountain and receive medical treatment.
