With crisp autumn weather, it’s once again the peak season for hiking. The Fangshan Blue Sky Rescue Team had a busy weekend. After carrying a hiker with an ankle fracture down the mountain on Saturday — alternating between the “North Ladder” and “South Ladder” — the team rescued nine hikers from the same workplace who were stranded in the wild mountains for a day and a night on Sunday at Coffin Mountain.
“Not everyone can handle climbing the ‘North Ladder’ and ‘South Ladder’ in Fangshan,” said “Xiaoyuan Manbu,” the leader of the Fangshan Blue Sky Rescue Team, who almost always reminds hikers of the dangers of wild mountains during rescues. These routes are dubbed the “North Ladder” and “South Ladder” because the mountain formations resemble upright ladders — the level of danger is easy to imagine.
Due to the steep and rugged terrain, the “North Ladder” and “South Ladder” have become one of the climbing routes that many outdoor enthusiasts love to challenge.
