The world-renowned Parisian bridge famous for love locks, the "Pont des Arts Art Bridge," is seeing its love lock culture come to an end. The Paris City Hall announced that for the safety of the bridge and visitors, the Love Lock Bridge will be closed for eight days starting June 1, with all love locks on the bridge to be completely removed.
The Pont des Arts Art Bridge, also known as the Love Lock Bridge, has been a must-visit romantic spot for couples around the world since 1998, when an increasing number of people began hanging love locks on the bridge and throwing the keys into the river, wishing for everlasting love.
The city will close the Pont des Arts Art Bridge on June 1 to remove the love locks and renovate the bridge.
