Sweet tooth lovers in southern Taiwan are in for a treat — 3 popular Japanese dessert brands are coming to Kaohsiung

Dessert enthusiasts, rejoice！ Three popular Japanese dessert shops have been brought to Kaohsiung’s Hanshin Dome Mall, including Tokyo’s Harajuku-favorite Black Ship, Japan’s ultra-trendy ZAKUZAKU stick puffs, and FUJIYA’s Western-style confections. They are currently in soft opening and are set to officially launch on October 12.

Black Ship
The second branch of Tokyo’s popular dessert shop “Black Ship,” located in Harajuku, began trial sales on October 5. From October 12 to 15, there will also be a limited offer of 100 sets of Black Ship’s mini tote cake combo at a special price of NT$450, including one plain Nagasaki cake slice, one matcha Nagasaki cake slice, one plain dorayaki, one matcha waffle, and a Black Ship-exclusive tote bag.

In addition to classic items like Nagasaki cake, dorayaki, and Nagasaki cake brittle, there are also new jelly series made with ingredients sourced from across Japan. These include the VIA Yuzu Jelly using yuzu from Ehime and Kochi prefectures, the VIA Cherry Jelly made with cherries from Yamagata prefecture, and the VIA Black Bean Jelly featuring black beans from Tanba.

ZAKUZAKU Stick Puffs
Following its launch in Taichung, Japan’s super-popular fashion-street-style dessert ZAKUZAKU stick puffs has announced its expansion to southern Taiwan. It will open its third Taiwan branch at Kaohsiung Hanshin Dome on October 5, along with a Kaohsiung-exclusive limited-edition product — the chocolate stick puff. ZAKUZAKU stick puffs are priced at NT$88 each or NT$498 for six, while the chocolate version is NT$98 per piece, with a daily limit of 200. The Kaohsiung-exclusive flavor will be available from October 5 to November 30.

FUJIYA Western-style Confections
FUJIYA’s first overseas store opened in Taipei, and its second location has now landed in the port city of Kaohsiung. The main offerings include cheesecake tarts, mille-feuille ice cream, and a variety of merchandise.
