The well-known Japanese discount store “Don Quijote 'Amazing Discount Hall',” famous for its wide range of products and low prices, has announced that by the end of June, travelers can pay in 7 foreign currencies at all 254 of its stores across Japan. Taiwanese travelers can now shop directly at Don Quijote just by bringing New Taiwan Dollars (TWD)!

According to Don Quijote’s official website,from now until June 30, travelers can pay using any of seven foreign currencies: New Taiwan Dollars, US Dollars, Euros, South Korean Won, Hong Kong Dollars, Thai Baht, and Chinese Yuan.Starting July 1, some stores will offer this service on a permanent basis.

Travelers should note that only one currency type can be used per transaction—mixing currencies is not allowed—and only banknotes are accepted. After currency conversion, change will be given in Japanese Yen, but this service does not apply to Don Quijote’s Picasso, Essence, or Amazing Dō stores.

Don Quijote Foreign Currency Payment Guidelines:

1. Only banknotes are accepted; coins are not accepted
2. Exchange rates can be checked at the store’s checkout counter
3. Exchange rates may fluctuate and there is no unified rate
4. Currency exchange services are not available
5. The list of accepted foreign currencies may be subject to change
