The World’s Coolest Job: Stay for Free as a Mystery Guest at Taipei Marriott Hotel

Taipei Marriott Hotel, a brand under Marriott International, will begin trial operations in July, expected to spark another wave of hotel competition in Taipei’s Dazhi district. This is the first time Marriott has entered the Taiwanese market, and to mark the occasion, they’re offering an enviable job—inviting members of the public to become “Mystery Guests (Mimi Guest),” much like those in the Italian movie *5-Star Life*. Not only can you stay for free and enjoy five-star hotel services, but you’ll also secretly evaluate the hotel.

According to Taipei Marriott Hotel, since the launch of the Mystery Guest campaign on April 27 until the deadline, a total of 237 participants signed up. After multiple rounds of voting, the first batch of 30 mystery guests was announced on June 5. Starting from August 2015, these mystery guests will be able to book stays freely. It is expected that by the end of the year, there will be an average of six mystery guests per month. They will remain anonymous, checking in without the knowledge of any front desk staff. After their Mimi Guest experience, they will fill out an evaluation form via an online questionnaire.

Taipei Marriott Hotel further stated that they are not afraid of mystery guests being critical or nitpicky, and are happy to let them fully enjoy the hotel services. The goal is to gain the most genuine feedback from customers through this approach.
