Asakusabashi in Tokyo is a paradise for DIY enthusiasts and lovers of unique goods, just two stops away from Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. Recognizing the area’s tourism potential, Japan’s well-known youth hostel chain “GRIDS” has created an upgraded version of its hostel brand here — “GRIDS Tokyo Asakusabashi.” For under ¥1,000 per night, guests can enjoy convenient transport, with direct access from either Narita or Haneda Airport via a single train ride.

Asakusabashi, located next to Akihabara, is a haven for DIY lovers and is known as the “town of craftsmanship.” It attracts many fans of unique goods, handmade crafts, and even stationery enthusiasts looking for treasures. In recent years, it has become increasingly popular among overseas travelers, emerging as a new sightseeing spot in Tokyo.

The youth hostel “GRIDS Tokyo Asakusabashi” combines the features of a hostel and a regular hotel, offering a variety of room types. The 10-story building is themed around “Aya-ori” (a type of traditional weaving) that symbolizes Asakusabashi, as well as “Japanese denim,” which is popular with overseas tourists. Room options range from the common dormitory-style bunk beds to family rooms, business rooms, and even female-only dorms, ensuring solo female travelers can stay with peace of mind. From the rooftop terrace, you can even enjoy a view of the elegant Tokyo Skytree.

To help guests better immerse themselves in Tokyo life, the hostel has gone all out to open a café and bar on the first floor, providing spaces for interaction with locals. The brand-new “GRIDS Tokyo Asakusabashi” Youth Hostel will officially open on November 1st, with nightly rates starting from ¥3,400 (approximately NT$925).
