Starting on the 13th, the Palace Museum in Beijing has begun enforcing a real-name ticketing system, requiring visitors to present identification documents to buy tickets. In the future, Taiwanese travelers wishing to visit the museum will be unable to purchase tickets without their Taiwan Compatriot Permit.

According to mainland media reports, in order to protect historical relics and allow tourists to explore cultural heritage in a more comfortable environment, the Palace Museum in Beijing has started implementing a daily visitor cap of 80,000 people from the 13th, while also promoting online advance bookings and a real-name ticketing system.

The Palace Museum in Beijing now requires that all tour groups book tickets online in advance and no longer allows on-site group ticket purchases. In addition to encouraging individual visitors to purchase tickets online, those buying tickets on-site must present their passports. Taiwanese visitors are required to show their Taiwan Compatriot Permit to purchase tickets. Without either a Taiwan Compatriot Permit or a passport, entry cannot be granted.
