A lifestyle café nestled in Hong Kong's industrial area – enjoy signature Italian cuisine!

As a hardworking office worker, I often work overtime at the office until the end of time from Monday to Friday. Weekends are rare, and I just want to laze around at home. But being a foodie, I don’t feel like cooking on my precious days off, nor do I want to settle for fast food or cha chaan teng. So today, I’m channeling my inner factory girl and taking you all to HOWE Furniture & Cafe located in the Kwun Tong industrial area. HOWE is a unique shop that combines home furnishings and a café in one.

As soon as I walked into the café, I was drawn in by its décor and furnishings. Since the space also doubles as a furniture showroom, almost every seat is unique, allowing guests to choose their favorite spot. The tables are well-spaced, so you can chat leisurely with friends without worrying about disturbing others or having your conversations overheard.

What I appreciate even more is the presence of bar-height chairs and stools—perfect for enjoying a solo coffee and a good book, making for a delightful weekend.

Speaking of coffee, I must mention that the coffee here is made with great care, and there are also many specialty drinks, such as green tea, iced tea, and the Metro Wellness series. One that caught my curiosity is the “Flu Fighter.” In addition, the food is equally creative, with lunch sets available from 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

That day, we tried the French-style turkey breast pasta with creamy mushroom sauce ($80 with drink). The turkey breast became velvety with the creamy sauce, and the balance of the sauce was just right—not overly rich.

Crispy pork cutlet sandwich on Italian bread with tartar sauce ($70 with drink). The outer layer of the Italian bread is crispy, while the inside remains soft. It’s also thoughtfully served with a salad to balance the richness.

After a satisfying meal and some relaxation, if you find any homeware that catches your eye, you can take it home and recreate this cozy vibe every day. Well, as for me, I won’t be bringing any furniture back—ha ha—because then I’d have no excuse to come back for another delicious meal!
