China Airlines' 777 Participates in the "Paris International Air Show" — Boeing CEO: Very Impressive

China Airlines' new-generation 777-300ER aircraft made its European debut at the Paris International Air Show (Paris Air Show 2015) on the 15th, French time. China Airlines Chairman Sun Hong-xiang attended in person and, together with Ray•Conner, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, introduced the airline’s new-generation 777 aircraft to the world. From the cabin interiors to the flight attendant uniforms, the design showcases an Eastern aesthetic that blends traditional elements with modern technology.

In his speech, China Airlines Chairman Sun Hong-xiang stated that as the leading brand in Taiwan’s aviation industry, China Airlines is committed to showcasing the best of Taiwanese culture on its planes—whether seen, smelled, tasted, or felt. The exhibition is an opportunity to promote the beauty of Taiwan. “We are confident that China Airlines’ new-generation 777 aircraft demonstrates Taiwan’s astonishing cultural and creative strength, creating a new concept of tasteful travel.”

China Airlines was invited to participate in this exhibition by Boeing. Ray•Conner, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, pointed out that China Airlines is an important customer that has collaborated with Boeing for over half a century. When the first 777-300ER was delivered to China Airlines last October, he was already impressed by the innovative and unique cabin design of the new-generation 777. Recently, the new 777 aircraft have won numerous awards, including the Golden Pin Design Award and the German Red Dot Design Award. Boeing is honored to invite China Airlines to let everyone admire the 777 at the Paris Air Show.

Chen Rui-xian, Chief Designer of China Airlines’ new-generation aircraft, shared the design philosophy at the exhibition venue: “An airplane is an extension of the nation. We aim to perfect the design so that what we present will make people feel it’s unlike any airplane they’ve seen before. During the conceptualization phase, we incorporated ideas from design hotels to create a personalized space for passengers.”

The exhibition integrated technology, allowing visitors to experience a virtual 3D simulation of the 777 cabin using the latest Google Box 3D technology while waiting in line to board for the tour, giving them a taste of China Airlines’ new design concepts and humanistic spirit. China Airlines flight attendants also appeared in their newly launched uniforms. The new 777 aircraft currently serve routes to Los Angeles, New York, and Shanghai. Starting in July, they will fly the Taipei–San Francisco route, and in November, they will be deployed on the Taipei–Frankfurt route, offering passengers a more comfortable journey.
