Taiwan compatriots traveling to the mainland will be exempt from visas, and the new measures will take effect from July 1 this year, which is beneficial for Taiwanese travelers. Shi Yi, the Mainland convener of the Quality Assurance Association, said the new measures are equivalent to visa exemption for the Taiwan Compatriot Permit. The primary benefits are cost savings and increased convenience for travelers. In the past, when traveling to Central Asia or North Korea and transiting through other countries, multiple-entry visas were required, costing approximately over NT$2,000. Now, not only are the costs saved, but travel agencies are also spared the complicated process of handling documents.

Since the implementation of transit visas at various mainland ports, there are basically no longer any document restrictions on traveling to the mainland. In the future, after the reform of the Taiwan Compatriot Permit, tour group fees will also be reduced by NT$1,000 to NT$2,000 due to lower visa cost expenses. For travelers, going to the mainland will also become more convenient.
