Taiwan’s Sandwich Makes Global List of Most Expensive — One Serves for NT$357

The annual global sandwich price ranking is out again！ An international hotel booking website today (25th) released its latest annual Club Sandwich Index report, serving as an indicator of dining prices at hotels worldwide. This year, Taiwan’s sandwich price ranks 17th globally, with one serving costing NT$357.

According to statistics from the Club Sandwich Index 2.0, Geneva is not only the city with the most expensive club sandwich in the world, but also the travel destination with the highest all-day dining cost at hotels, averaging NT$2,656. Meanwhile, Bogotá in Colombia is the most budget-friendly travel city, with an average sandwich price of NT$921. However, if travelers dine at a hotel in Taipei, their total daily expenditure ranks 17th globally, averaging around NT$1,413, with the sandwich priced at NT$357.

The sandwich index serves as a reference for travelers’ expenses. Jacqueline Chung, Greater China Marketing Director at Hotels.com, said: “Using this information, some travelers might opt to indulge in a burger meal at a hotel in Geneva, while others may prefer to unwind with a glass of wine in Madrid that’s eight times cheaper!”
