Last updated 2026-09-24 — By chance, I learned about this late-night spot from the owner of a drink shop—well, actually it’s more of a snack place. Hearing that they serve great pork cheek meat, I couldn’t help but get curious. When I showed up in the evening, I realized I’d actually been here before—but back then I was just chatting with a friend and didn’t eat anything. How embarrassing.

By chance, I learned about this late-night spot from the owner of a drink shop—well, actually it’s more of a snack place. Hearing that they serve great pork cheek meat, I couldn’t help but get curious. When I showed up in the evening, I realized I’d actually been here before—but back then I was just chatting with a friend and didn’t eat anything. How embarrassing.

We ordered the following:
------------------
Asparagus salad (NT$80)
Mushroom congee (NT$30)
Fried oysters (NT$50)
Special chicken liver pâté (NT$50)
Pork cheek meat (NT$50)
Blanched greens (NT$40)
Red-braised pork (NT$50)
Fried shrimp (NT$50)
------------------

It all started with the Taiwanese-style congee, where each grain of rice stood out distinctly. The aroma was led by chopped celery and fried shallots, complemented by well-cooked rice grains and other seasonings that warmed the stomach.

The fried items and greens were decent for the price. Compared to the pork cheek meat I usually get at A-Thin, this version had a similar tenderness but added a bit more chew, and perhaps it was just my imagination, but the portion seemed a little smaller.

The chicken liver pâté was surprisingly good—beautiful pale beige with hints of pink, and an incredibly tender surface that looked absolutely delicious. This dish is tricky to prepare, with different methods everywhere, but it definitely requires experience and skill.

Once you try A-Rong’s chicken liver pâté, it’s almost sinful. With just a dab of soy paste, you won’t be able to stop at one slice—it’s dangerously addictive as a late-night snack.

After paying the bill and stepping out of the restaurant, I suddenly remembered I had recently said I wanted to lose weight. Oh well, that’s always something I can start tomorrow.
