The Taoyuan City Government’s Tourism and Travel Bureau is hosting the “2015 North Cross Tourism Festival – Summer Adventure King” from July 11 to July 26. The event features four major activities across four parks in the North Cross region, including bungee jumping, river tracing, and treasure hunts, inviting the public to courageously explore the North Cross. To give participants an extra thrill, a “crane bungee jump” was also arranged today (July 9) in front of the city government plaza to challenge one’s limits.

According to the tourism bureau, this year’s North Cross Tourism Festival kicks off on July 11. The first week will feature the “Summer Peach Treasure King Orientation Treasure Hunt” at Cihu Sculpture Park. From July 17, 18, 25, and 26, bungee jumping activities will be held at the Lala Mountain area, where participants can leap from the 43-meter-high Baleng Suspension Bridge to challenge their courage.

On July 18 and 19, a picnic day will also be held at the Jiaobanshan area, where visitors can enjoy special picnic boxes made with local ingredients. There will also be escape game activities available for the public. On July 25 and 26, river tracing activities will take place at the Xiaowulai area, offering a refreshing experience.

In addition to various events during the North Cross Tourism Festival, there will also be a peach exhibition, a Dendrobium orchid exhibition, and an Atayal Life art exhibition. During the event period, Taiwan Tourist Shuttle buses will also offer an 20% discount on one-day passes and limited exclusive ticket packages to make travel more convenient. For those wishing to stay overnight, local schools such as Baiji Elementary School in Daxi District, Xiayun Elementary School, Luofu Elementary School, Sanguang Elementary School, and Changxing Elementary School in Fuxing District, will provide camping space, allowing visitors to not only save on accommodation costs but also enjoy the wonderful experience of sleeping under the night sky.

Wu Yirong from the Taoyuan City Government’s Tourism and Travel Bureau stated that due to the potential impact of Typhoon Chan-Hom on the Taoyuan area this weekend, any changes to the July 11 events will be announced separately depending on the typhoon situation.
