Mid-sized Window Snacks Along Taichung’s Liuchuan River: Homemade Mini Cuban Sandwiches with Hearty Fillings!

Ever since I discoveredLiuchuan Bakery,every time I’m back in Taichung and pass through this area, I make a detour to pick up some bread. One day, I overheard a staff member mentioning that they would soon open a dessert shop and a Cuban sandwich shop by the Liuchuan River. Not long after, a soft launch announcement popped up on my Facebook feed. The last time I was back in Taichung after visiting a coffee exhibition and felt a bit peckish, I drove Champion here to grab a sandwich.

In terms of space utilization, Little Cuba really makes the most of its layout—the front section is a dessert shop, while the back has a small window serving sandwiches.

The menu is simple, with items made to order.

After placing your order, the staff hands you a small clip. Hi everyone, I’m Sean “The Wall” (if you haven’t seen Attack on Titan, you won’t get the joke—feel free to ignore it).

As usual, I snapped some photos while waiting for my food. To be honest, I’m quite impressed by the shop’s interior design skills—a tiny sandwich window, yet it offers plenty of photo opportunities. Impressive.

Peanut Banana Mini Cuban

This one was ordered by the two-time latte art champion—I didn’t dare to sneak a bite. According to him… it’s delicious!

That day, I had the Seafood Mini Cuban.

The homemade bread is delicious on its own, paired with a mildly spicy seasoning and hearty fillings—it’s very satisfying with each bite. Even though it’s not the traditional Cuban sandwich I had in mind, it’s still pretty tasty overall, though the portion could leave you a bit less full. I think a takeaway sandwich priced at 150 NT should at least leave you feeling 70–80% full.
I hope they can beef up the portion size a bit.
