The world’s largest passenger aircraft, the A380 operated by Emirates, landed in Taiwan for the first time with passengers on the 19th, touching down at Taoyuan International Airport at 4:40 p.m. Emirates is also the first airline to arrive in Taiwan with an A380 after the completion of the renovation of the southern runway and the construction of new double-decker glass boarding bridges at Taoyuan Airport.

This A380 departed from Dubai, carrying 476 passengers with a load factor of 90%, taking off at 4:05 a.m. local time and arriving at Taoyuan Airport in the afternoon; it is scheduled to depart Taiwan for Dubai at 11:45 p.m. on the 19th.

The cabin of the Emirates A380 features 14 first-class private suites, 76 fully flat business class seats, and 401 economy class seats. The most unique feature is the onboard spa shower facilities, offering first-class passengers a relaxing journey. In addition, all passengers flying on the Emirates A380 can enjoy the ice inflight entertainment system, which provides over 2,000 channels, as well as complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi.

The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, four-engine jumbo jet developed by the European aerospace company Airbus. It is the world’s largest passenger aircraft, breaking the Boeing 747’s 37-year record as the civil aircraft with the highest passenger capacity. When configured with the highest seating density, it can carry up to 893 passengers.

The A380 delivered its first commercial aircraft in 2007. Due to the lack of relevant facilities at Taoyuan Airport, it had never had the opportunity to land with passengers. This year, after the renovation of the southern runway at Taoyuan Airport and the installation of new double-decker glass boarding bridges, the airport finally welcomed its first A380 passenger aircraft.
