W Taipei’s the kitchen table has specially launched a “Summer Flavors” buffet-style afternoon tea starting July 6, featuring an abundance of both savory and sweet items themed around mangoes and coconuts for all-you-can-eat. Among the savory options, the chef recommends must-tries such as spicy shrimp and coconut salad, spiced grilled mango, coconut rice crispy shrimp, and mango cold soup with lemon cheese pearls. For sweets, recommended items include chia coconut milk with raspberry rice pudding, tropical mango mille-feuille mousse, mango tart with sweet potato cream filling, and coconut lychee mini tarts.

Frank Haasnoot, Executive Pastry Chef at Mandarin Oriental Taipei and also a World Chocolate Master, has specially created the “Summer-Limited Mango Tart” using sweet and juicy Irwin mangoes. Priced at NT$1,000 each, the tart features a vanilla tart base topped with almond milk custard and vanilla crème pâtissière, layered with mango purée made from imported French mangoes, and finally adorned with fresh slices of Irwin mango arranged in the shape of a rose.

Following the opening of “LA ONE Kitchen (European Kitchen)” earlier this year in Kaohsiung’s Love River Heart Park, the fourth new branch from Genius Catering Group — “LA ONE Bakery (Bakery)” — has officially commenced operations. To welcome the hot summer season, “LA ONE Bakery” has also launched several items using fruits produced by local Taiwanese farmers, such as Shu-Da jade muskmelons, Irwin mangoes, and golden pineapples, capturing their unique sweet-and-sour flavors in treats like “Jade Muskmelon Honey Toast” and “Irwin Mango Hand Pie.”
