The Royal Residence Buckingham Palace Opens for Summer in 2015 – Don’t Miss the “Grand Entrance”!

Every summer, the royal residence Buckingham Palace opens to the public while the Queen is on holiday in Scotland. Visitors have the rare opportunity to explore this normally highly guarded royal site and see the State Rooms, where important foreign dignitaries and officials are usually received.

According to CNN, the annual opening attracts an average of 400,000 visitors,and this year’s biggest highlight is the “Grand Entrance”. The Grand Entrance is the route taken by the British monarch to welcome heads of state and prime ministers before entering the State Rooms. It has not been open to the public since 1993.

Although you can't stay overnight, seeing one of the world’s most iconic palaces up close makes this a must-do experience for any summer trip to the UK.
