Star Alliance’s 11 airlines launch an “Economy Class Round-the-World Discounted Fare”

The global airline alliance “Star Alliance” has launched an “Premium Economy Class Round-the-World Discounted Fare” starting today, with a total of 11 member carriers offering the service, including EVA Air.

Horst Findeisen, Vice President of Business Development at Star Alliance, said: “Star Alliance currently has 11 member airlines providing Premium Economy Class services, and we are pleased to offer more flight options so that travelers can fully enjoy the comfortable services of Premium Economy Class.”Star Alliance’s “Premium Economy Class Round-the-World Discounted Fare,” like other cabin classes’ “Round-the-World Discounted Fare” products, offers three mileage options: 29,000 miles, 34,000 miles, and 39,000 miles.

Airlines offering the Premium Economy Class Round-the-World Discounted Fare include EVA Air, Air Canada, Air China, Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, Lufthansa, LOT Polish Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, and Turkish Airlines.To provide more flexibility in itinerary planning, passengers may also choose to combine flights with other Star Alliance members. If a particular flight does not offer Premium Economy Class, passengers may travel in Economy Class instead.

Star Alliance’s Round-the-World discounted fares come in 17 fare options, including 3 First Class, 4 Business Class, 3 Premium Economy Class, and 7 Economy Class choices. Children aged 2 to 11 receive a 25% discount off the adult fare, while infants under 2 years old who do not occupy a seat pay just 10% of the adult fare.

Star Alliance recommends that travelers plan their journeys across different fare options, with both departure and arrival points located within the same country. Flights can be eastbound or westbound, and generally must maintain the same overall direction, though travelers may backtrack within the same continent. The trip must cross both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans at least once, and include stays of at least 24 hours in at least 3 cities. Depending on the fare option chosen, travelers can visit between 5 to 15 cities.

Star Alliance currently has 28 member airlines, including Adria Airways, Aegean Airlines, Air Canada, Air China, Air India, Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, Asiana Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Avianca, Copa Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Copa Airlines Colombia, Croatia Airlines, EgyptAir, Ethiopian Airlines, EVA Air, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways, Swiss International Air Lines, TAP Air Portugal, Turkish Airlines, Thai Airways, and United Airlines. Star Alliance’s flight network operates over 18,500 flights daily to 1,330 destinations in 192 countries.
