Tired from visiting exhibitions in Songshan? Recharge at these 3 popular cafes and dessert shops

In recent years, the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park has hosted more and more exhibitions. Even if you're not here for the exhibits, the park is a great spot for a weekend outing. But what if you’re worn out after viewing the shows? Not far from the park’s entrance, there are three popular spots where you can relax and refuel: the trendy Drip Cafe, Japanese dessert shop LeTAO, and the quirky American doughnut chain Voodoo Doughnut. All three offer a place to sit, enjoy a snack, and recharge.

LeTAO Songshan Branch
The renowned Hokkaido Otaru-based dessert shop LeTAO has opened its first overseas branch with the same name in Taipei in April, located near the entrance of the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. Here, you can enjoy their signature double-layer cheesecake, which is made in Japan and then flown to Taiwan to maintain its authentic taste. The classic double-layer cheesecake combines Italian mascarpone, Australian cream cheese, and rich Hokkaido fresh cream—featuring a no-bake frozen cheese layer and a baked cheese cake layer that are rich, creamy, and melt-in-your-mouth. In addition to the original flavor, there are also chocolate and seasonal matcha options, all equally popular.

For food, besides the double-layer cheesecake, they also serve Japanese-style pancakes, salads, sundaes, and four Taiwan-exclusive main meals available only during meal times: mushroom risotto, ginger pork rice, Russian-style beef stroganoff rice, and sunny-side burger steak set. Prices range from NT$340 to NT$360.

Voodoo Doughnut
The Portland-based “Voodoo Doughnut,” known as an international tourist attraction by American media, officially opened its doors on July 18. Its outlandish doughnut designs—which include human-shaped ones—have made it a super-popular item. Moreover, to provide more opportunities for people to hang out and enjoy doughnuts, Voodoo Doughnut Taiwan has switched to 24-hour operations starting July 8.

Currently, the store offers about 30–40 varieties of doughnuts, all handmade daily. Flavors are displayed in a rotating glass case so customers can easily pick their favorites. Staff are happy to explain any flavors you're curious about. Kevin says the most popular and signature items are the maple bacon doughnut, voodoo doll doughnut, and the “dirty” doughnut. They also offer custom doughnuts—foreign customers have previously ordered some hilariously embarrassing designs.

Drip Cafe (好滴咖啡)
Drip Cafe has become a popular spot near Songshan, often fully booked even on weekdays. Aside from quality coffee, its signature dessert—the strawberry croissant donut—is especially loved by young women. In addition to donuts and hand pies, they also offer savory items like sandwiches and pasta, including a well-loved beef cheese sandwich.
