Kaohsiung’s “Taroko Mall” pioneers airport check-in service inside a shopping mall

Want to have fun before your flight but afraid of missing your check-in time? The “Taroko Mall,” set to open in Kaohsiung by the end of the year, will be the first shopping mall in Taiwan to offer an on-site airport check-in service, creating a new era of tourism for Xiaogang. It’s scheduled to debut by the end of this year as the island’s first shopping center with such a facility.

Covering an area of 8.7 hectares, the “Taroko Mall” is a shopping center built around a “sports/theme entertainment” concept. Facilities inside include a sports-themed building, Fitness Factory, a bowling complex amusement park, Ambassador Theatre, shopping areas, and an interactive car theme park.

The Taroko Mall also sets several “firsts”:

1. Taiwan’s first shopping mall with airport pre-check-in services
2. The mall houses Taiwan’s largest carousel
3. The world’s first shopping and entertainment complex integrated with an international go-kart racing track
