Taiwan’s only sky rainbow track – take a stroll and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the campus

With the evolution of the times, public transport has gone elevated, and now even running tracks are set up in the sky. Taiwan’s one and only sky rainbow track is also a vital corridor on rainy days. Spanning about 360 meters, it’s tucked away inside Xingang Arts High School in Chiayi County. Since the school isn’t very big, this aerial track acts as a key link between each classroom and facility. Strolling along it also allows you to take in the green scenery of the entire campus area – and it’s the newest spot for IG check-ins.

As soon as you step through the gate, you’ll see the elevated walkway structure – but which way should you go?

Walk toward the main field, and you’ll find that the stairs at the front are likely the entrance.

As expected of an arts high school – the architecture here is full of character. Within this curved landscape stands a pathway, with all the classrooms situated along its sides. Along the way, you’ll also pass the restroom, classrooms, and the principal’s office – all accessible via the track, which is quite convenient. Next, we head to the staircase and climb up to the second-floor rainbow track.

Taiwan’s only sky track has just three lanes, probably suitable only for jogging, not sprinting. Though it’s just 360 meters long, it feels surprisingly expansive.

After walking a short distance, you’ll reach the main gate area, where you can see Taiwan Lagerstroemia trees – their yellow and orange hues brightening up the entire campus.

Now look to the view on the other side – thanks to the curved design of the campus, you can take in the full panorama of the school grounds.

Each section reveals something different – this place is truly the creative soul of the arts high school.

Walking and snapping photos, you’ll unknowingly complete a full loop and end up in this open space right in front of the principal’s office. There’s also a staircase here that leads down, so you don’t have to go back to the entrance.

From a distance, you can see a rainbow stretching across the sky, and below there’s a shaded area perfect for cooling off or taking shelter from the rain. There were also quite a few people exercising down there that day – not a bad option either.

Look up, and you’ll find even more to admire.

The Taiwan Lagerstroemia trees in front of the main gate are currently in full bloom. If you’re visiting Xingang, you can enjoy the flowers and get some exercise at the same time.

It’s recommended to come after 4 PM – it’s cooler for both exercising and taking photos.
