Big portions and affordable brunch in Taichung—enjoy honey toast with the whole family for pure happiness!

After trying ‘Coffee+ Home’, I’ve started loving to bring my family along on holidays. Some brunch spots really thrive on their vibe, but this place is perfect for groups, spontaneous outings, or just stepping out your door to enjoy that feeling. The space and atmosphere feel relaxed, making it great for bringing elderly folks, parents, or kids. You could even come in flip-flops and be totally fine XD

This ‘Coffee+ Home Hankou Branch’ is closer to us than the Xiangshang branch we visited before. It’s newly opened with plenty of indoor seating and great natural light, so when we’re not sure where to go on a holiday, we often end up here for brunch. There are always some places you want to revisit, and some spots that may seem ordinary but are as reliably satisfying as a glass of water—simple yet enduring.

The location of this ‘Coffee+ Home Hankou Branch’ is on Section 4, Hankou Road, right across from Jiguang Xiangxiang Chicken. On a holiday, we came with family, and by noon, it was almost fully seated. There’s plenty of indoor seating, and the soft lighting makes it a great spot to sip coffee, flip through a newspaper, and quietly enjoy the start of the day.

The store layout has a nice flow, with a semi-open kitchen and counter that feels welcoming. Lots of little plush toys give off a subtle rustic vibe, and watching them brings a smile.

Because the place was so crowded, I could only take photos of the empty spots. I wanted to share these simple decorations with everyone—after all, a café’s ambiance really matters. Some places are great for couples, while others, like the ‘Coffee+ Home Hankou Branch’, are perfect for families or even office workers looking for a good spot for an afternoon meeting. XD

Just look at how packed the place is—you can tell ‘Coffee+ Home Hankou Branch’ is really great value for money. XD Perfect for couples, parents with kids, or elders coming for a chat. And despite the crowd, it’s not noisy at all—everyone seems well-mannered. Whether reading, browsing the web, or enjoying the food in front of you, one big reason I love ‘Coffee+ Home Hankou Branch’ is the delicious food, low prices, generous portions, and wide variety. A full brunch set costs around 150 NT—and items like pancakes, burgers, and pasta are in that same price range.

Our party of three ordered two brunch sets, pasta, fresh juice, a latte, and shared a honey toast. We really liked their juice and latte—the juice was fresh, and starting the day with a glass felt amazing. I also loved their latte. I usually take mine without sugar, and the rich, creamy milk flavor paired with the coffee aroma is truly the highlight of any coffee lover’s day. XD

I have to talk about how affordable their meals are. Take this fried platter above—it’s only 170 NT and comes with popcorn chicken, golden fries, sweet potato sticks, and chicken tenders. All freshly served, crispy and fragrant, and still hot. It’s the perfect side for chatting. The chicken tenders are about a centimeter thick, crispy outside and tender inside—so good. The popcorn chicken has a slight kick, and you might find yourself popping one after another. The fries and sweet potato sticks are must-orders, especially the fries—they’re not greasy or too salty, just delicious.

For the main course, we ordered a spicy chicken thigh tomato pasta. I love this dish—the spicy chicken thigh cutlet is huge, spicy, and tender, really satisfying. The pasta is cooked just right—not too soft. The tangy tomato sauce is perfect for summer, appetizing and flavorful. There’s also garlic bread on the side, and the portion is so big you’ll be worried you won’t get full XD

Looking at the spicy chicken thigh from the side, you can see it’s still juicy—really tender and tasty. It almost looks like a burger patty, so it would pair great with a burger too.

Another dish we tried was the Japanese-style pork cutlet breakfast. That pork cutlet is a massive piece—taking up a third of the plate. Plus, there’s also a special sausage omelet, salad, and fruit. It’s such a filling combo you might actually burst. And the whole set is only 149 NT!! The crispy crust, thick and juicy pork, with a chewy but not dry texture. This is definitely the kind of meal for ‘guys who think brunch isn’t filling enough—come here and you’ll be satisfied.’ XD

Check out this omelet—I love it too. About a centimeter thick, the egg is soft with diced German sausage inside. It has a subtle savory taste, and the egg aroma is wonderful. I’m a total fan of all kinds of ‘egg dishes.’ XD

This grilled British-style pudding toast is my friend’s absolute favorite. She loves French toast and pudding toast XD Plus, as a girl, this grilled version isn’t deep-fried, so it feels a bit lighter. There’s a pork cutlet, a chicken cutlet, five pieces of pudding toast, fresh fruit, and fries—seriously, the portion is over the top!

The pudding toast slices are thoughtfully cut into strips, so even if you grab one to eat, it still looks nice XD. The toast has a hint of honey sweetness and the aroma of the egg coating, really delicious. The toast itself is also soft. The pork and chicken cutlets are just right—one mildly spicy, the other original charcoal-grilled flavor—perfect for female diners.

The set also comes with soup—the corn soup is really good. Kids will love its rich flavor. It’s got lots of corn and ham, warming and comforting—just having a bowl in the morning feels wonderful.

Later, we also ordered the honey toast. Their honey toast is cheap and delicious. When it arrives, the caramel and cinnamon aroma hits you, and then there’s the butter—always makes the girls go wild. And you have to eat it fast because the toast is freshly baked, and the heat slowly melts the butter XD. But don’t worry—they’ll usually serve it already sliced.

Watch the butter melt into the toast, mixed with the sweet caramel—it’s both indulgent and irresistible. XD Sometimes we come in the afternoon for coffee and order one too, just surfing the net or reading while enjoying a relaxing afternoon. That’s life—when you know how to create little moments of romance, everything becomes special.
