“2015 Dadaocheng Music Valentine’s Daywill take place at Dadaocheng Wharf on August 15. Based on past experience, the main fireworks display usually takes place over the river between Dadaocheng Wharf and Zhongxiao Bridge. This article rounds up six great spots to enjoy the fireworks:

1. Blue Highway
Boats can be taken from places such as Guandu Wharf and Fisherman’s Wharf along the Blue Highway area for a relaxing river cruise to watch the fireworks.

2. Dadaocheng Wharf No. 5 Water Gate
The No. 5 Water Gate along the Tamsui River has always been a top-tier spot for fireworks viewing, offering the most spectacular views of the fireworks bursts. It is recommended to arrive early in the afternoon to secure your spot, and bring plenty of food and water to keep up your energy for the evening show.

3. Civic Blvd No. 3 Water Gate near the Tamsui River
This spacious site offers wide views, and visitors can come in the afternoon to stroll along the riverside, with light meals and charity booths available—great for refueling before the night show. A downside is that you might go home with some firework debris in your hair.

4. Sanchong Riverside Embankment near Zhongxiao Bridge
Zhongxiao Bridge is not far from the fireworks site. Though it will be closed for the event, visitors can time their arrival well to grab a good spot.

5. Luoyang Parking Lot & Xining Public Housing
These areas offer unobstructed bridge views with no visual barriers, making them great spots for fireworks watching.

6. On Taipei Bridge
Ideal for those who prefer to watch the fireworks from a distance. The broad views here also make it a favorite photography spot for many professionals.

Besides these outdoor locations, if you’re willing to splurge a bit, nearby hotels with scenic views are also great options. Alternatively, joining friends on their rooftop nearby is another fun choice.
