V Air’s inaugural Taipei–Busan flight on August 24, with tickets starting as low as NT$199

V Air announced today (August 5) that it has successfully obtained an operating permit issued by the South Korean Civil Aviation Administration and a route certificate approved by Taiwan’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications Civil Aeronautics Administration. It will launch its inaugural Taipei (Taoyuan)–Busan route on August 24 and begin ticket sales on August 6. On August 10, it will also release 4,500 special promotional tickets priced at NT$199 and NT$666.

V Air stated that the one-way fare for the Taipei–Busan route starts at NT$2,100, with the first wave of promotional sales running from 10:00 on August 10 to 23:59 on August 16. Most of the NT$199 special tickets are available for flights between August 24 and September 30, while the NT$666 promotional tickets are evenly distributed across flights from the launch date to December 31. Including airport taxes and related fees for both cities, the round-trip fare starts as low as NT$1,692.

V Air will operate the Busan route using the A321 aircraft, with three round-trip flights per week scheduled. Flights will depart on Mondays and Fridays in the afternoon and return in the evening, while the Wednesday flight schedule will be opened for sale once the time slot is confirmed. V Air has become the first Taiwanese low-cost carrier to fly to South Korea. (All prices listed above are one-way and exclusive of tax.)
