Mont-Saint-Michel (French: Mont-Saint-Michel) is one of France’s most important attractions, beloved by many newlyweds as a honeymoon destination. Situated on a small rocky island about 1 kilometer from the coast near Normandy, the Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey on the island is a pilgrimage site for Catholics and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
Mont-Saint-Michel is separated from mainland Europe during high tide, so visitors should pay special attention to the timing of their visit and avoid being on the muddy land during low tide, as fog may make it difficult to find your way back. It is recommended that visitors join a guided tour or rent an audio guide service, which is available in six languages.
