New Attraction at Pingtung Victory Cultural and Creative Park: 3D Mural “Ah Gou Treasure” Debuts

A new 3D mural titled “Ah Gou Treasure” has recently appeared next to the well-known “General’s House” attraction in Pingtung Victory Cultural and Creative Park, attracting much discussion and admiration from visitors. The artwork, inspired by local stories of the park, has become a fresh highlight in the area.

The aircraft auxiliary fuel tank-shaped water tower in front of the General’s House is a famous local landmark and an important memory of the Ah Gou City military dependents’ village. The creative idea came from Chang Chung-chin, a teacher at National Pingtung University’s Department of Cultural and Creative Industries, with the artwork brought to life by artist Liu Ren-sheng using this concept. The main character, Ah Gou Treasure, loves flying his favorite old-style plane freely through the skies, with the plane filled with treasures and a travel diary documenting his adventures around the world.

Liu Ren-sheng is a renowned 3D mural artist in Taiwan, who has previously worked as a painter for Japan’s Nojuku Corporation. His murals can be found at institutions such as the Kaohsiung Museum of Science and Technology, Meinong Hakka Cultural Museum, Yilan Yuanshan Ecological Botanical Museum, and the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium in Pingtung, all receiving high praise. The county government hopes to enhance the exterior appearance of the adjacent “Duobao House Cultural and Creative Product Exhibition Center,” and also aims to increase its visibility, making it a new spot for visitors to take photos and create memories.
