In the future, those wishing to see the “Leaning Mailbox” will have to visit the Beimen Post Office. Chunghwa Post announced on the 11th that due to large crowds flocking to see the “Leaning Mailbox,” traffic at the intersection of Longjiang Road in Taipei has been significantly affected. As a result, the mailbox will be dismantled at 5 PM on August 13 and moved to the front of the Beimen Post Office.

Chunghwa Post stated that although the mailbox will be removed at 5 PM on the 13th and fixed in place at the Beimen Post Office where the public can take photos, relocation and installation work may be delayed due to weather conditions. Therefore, the mailbox is tentatively scheduled to be available for photo opportunities at the Beimen Post Office starting from the 14th. In addition, the postal workers who have been taking turns to assist with photos at the Longjiang Road intersection are there primarily to help manage traffic flow, and their service will end at 5 PM on the 13th.

Chunghwa Post has also launched a “Leaning Mailbox” event.From 5 PM on August 12 to 5 PM on the 13th, letters deposited in the Leaning Mailbox will receive not only the regular postmark but also a “Smiling Cute Mailbox Commemorative Postmark.”The public can also write a postcard to themselves or a friend as a memento.
