The annual romantic Qixi Festival arrives on August 20th. Haven’t planned how to spend this sweet Valentine’s night yet? Although the Dadaocheng Music Valentine’s event in the north has been postponed due to a typhoon, there are still plenty of activities you can join. Here are four nighttimeQixi Festival eventscompiled by the Tourism Center—hurry and spend a romantic evening with your loved one.

1. Yilan “Happy Yilan, Love Sealed by Mountains and Seas”
From August 20th to 23rd, the Yilan County Government is holding the “Happy Yilan, Love Sealed by Mountains and Seas” event, setting up a small lantern festival around the Lanyang Museum. They will build a love-themed magpie bridge and an open-air coffee corner, and on August 20th, they will distribute a thousand small love gifts. For three consecutive nights, romantic concerts will be held, combining lighting and sound effects to create a magical ambiance. Unlike previous years where the magpie bridge was built over water, this year’s bridge will take the form of a wooden boardwalk on land to protect the cultural heritage and ecology behind Wushih Port’s ecological pond. Wishing all lovers a happy ending.

2. Tainan’s Nanmen Crystal Church Lights Up
To welcome the arrival of the Qixi Festival, Tainan’s Nanmen Crystal Church, known as a “wedding photo paradise,” is scheduled to light up on the evening of August 20th, Qixi Festival. It also plans to keep the lights on for one hour every weekend at sunset time going forward. The colorful lights reflecting on the pool make the romantic church even more captivating, accompanying you and your loved one to spend a sweet and romantic night.On Qixi Day, the lights will be on from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, so those who want to go for photos should pay special attention to avoid missing it.

3. Penghu Light and Fireworks Show
The Penghu National Scenic Area Administration has launched the “2015 Penghu Light and Fireworks Show,” premiering on the evening of August 20th, Qixi Festival, to create the most beautiful romantic atmosphere as the bay enters autumn, making Penghu more enchanting at night in summer. The event runs from the evening of August 20th, Qixi Festival, until October 3rd, with light and fireworks shows held on Saturdays—totaling nine performances—at Guanyin Pavilion Recreation Area. Each night, the light projection show begins at 8 PM, followed by fireworks at 9 PM.

4. Kaohsiung “Qixi Lovers, Romantic River Cruise”
Kaohsiung Harbor Shipping Company is holding the “Qixi Lovers, Romantic River Cruise” event. From now until August 23rd, they are offering couples a special “One Life One Love 140 NTD” romantic package deal, which includes a free string of cotton candy and a heartfelt postcard. This allows couples to express and share affection under the intertwined “Tree of Love,” leaving a testament of love.
