The "Easycard" can now be used on Taipei Metro from September – bright yellow card readers unveiled

Starting in September, the Easycard will be usable across the north and south of Taiwan, allowing access to both Taipei Metro and YouBike. Taipei Metro has also installed bright yellow "multi-card systems" at all 117 stations along its lines and is offering transfer discounts for those using the Easycard to ride the metro and bus rapid transit.

Taipei Metro Corporation stated that the multi-card system officially went into operation on September 1. The highly visible bright yellow ticket validators are located at the wide or barrier-free gates within the stations. All Taipei Metro stations will also begin offering services such as selling Easycards, topping up cards, and handling issues.

In addition, starting in September, passengers using the Easycard to ride Taipei Metro will enjoy an 20% discount on fares, as well as transfer discounts for bus rapid transit.
