Travelers can hop on the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle (Taiwan Good To Go) and explore the streets and alleys of Yunlin with ease. The Taiwan Tourist Shuttle “Douliu–Guankeng Line” starts at Douliu Railway Station, passing through Yunzhong Street, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, the Green Tunnel, Fulu Shou Distillery, Leofoo Safari Park, Ciguang Temple, Rosa Rose Manor, and ends at Huashan Coffee Avenue. However, after actually visiting these spots, I found that a few stops could be skipped to make the itinerary more relaxed—with longer stays at each site, making it ideal for those who prefer a slower pace.

Douliu Railway Station
Train stations in Taiwan are often surrounded by lots of great food options. Near Douliu Railway Station, you can grab a bite at Yongji’s Rice Balls, Dengji’s Rice Balls, or Laojie Bowl… basically one meal will fill you up. With a satisfying stomach, you’re all set to start your scenic journey by bus.

Yunzhong Street
Both sides of Yunzhong Street in Douliu City were once home to Japanese-era police dormitories—historic wooden structures that had long been neglected and abandoned. In recent years, after revitalization efforts by the county government, the area has been transformed into something truly amazing, with a range of distinctive cultural and educational facilities as well as creative industry parks. It has become an important hub for Yunlin’s creative industries.

The dormitories were built in the 12th year of the Showa era during Japanese rule and originally served as residences for police families. These Japanese-style wooden buildings feature walls made of hollow bricks. Nearby, there's also the Yunzhong Street Creative Cluster, including themed venues such as “Forest Handicrafts” and “Future Classroom – Robot Workshop.”

National Yunlin University of Science and Technology
National Yunlin University of Science and Technology is a green oasis in itself—a must-visit spot for out-of-towners. The university houses four colleges: Engineering, Management, Design, and Humanities & Sciences. Covering around 58 hectares, its vast campus is lined with tree-shaded avenues. Highlights include Yunmeng Lake and Guanyun Pavilion, two of the university’s most iconic spots.

Douliu Humanities and Sightseeing Night Market

Guankeng Green Tunnel
The renowned Guankeng Coffee promotional hub is right here in the Green Tunnel, which is also one of the few remaining mango-lined old bicycle paths in Taiwan. Every Saturday and Sunday, there’s a small farmers’ market showcasing specialty products from all over Yunlin. Nearby attractions like the Bee Story House are also worth visiting—if time allows, you might want to spend a bit more time here.

Huashan Coffee Street
Every year, Huashan Coffee Street hosts a coffee festival. The coffee road is divided into Blue Line, Green Line, Purple Line, and Orange Line Coffee Streets, gathering a variety of Yunlin’s specialty agricultural products. In the evening, you can come here to enjoy Gukeng coffee while admiring the night view—the twinkling lights make it very romantic.
