On the 25th, the Wang Group announced a partnership with travel website TripAdvisor to establish an official page on their site, allowing customers to post dining reviews at nearly 300 of its outlets. Kouber Chao, TripAdvisor’s Director of Business Development for Asia Pacific, stated that the Wang Group is the first enterprise in Asia to set up such a dedicated page, and the third globally. Yang Hsiu-hui, CEO of the Wang Group, added that once the official page is live, customer reviews will serve as a basis for internal improvements, and also help the group better understand the opinions and needs of international tourists.

This marks the first time the Wang Group has created a dedicated review page on TripAdvisor. Nearly 300 of its outlets will start providing small cards with a QR code for the Wang Group’s review page at checkout starting today. By scanning the QR code, customers can share their dining experiences online. This will become a key reference for international travelers exploring Taiwanese cuisine.

The Wang Group also released findings from its tourist visitor survey. Among its dining brands, the proportion of online reservations from foreign guests is highest among those from Hong Kong, accounting for about 58%, followed by Singapore and Macau. In terms of brand preference, the highest total number of reservations comes from the brand “Chamagne,” which accounts for 47%. Budget-friendly brands also receive considerable reservation requests from foreign guests. For example, at the Taipei Carrefour Guilin store of the group’s new teppanyaki restaurant “hot 7,” Taiwan’s retail outlets have become tourist attractions. The hot 7 Guilin store receives an average of 1–3 groups of overseas guests per day, mainly from South Korea, Hong Kong, mainland China, and Japan.

Regarding customer reviews on the TripAdvisor site, Kouber Chao pointed out that they take every review very seriously and verify whether it is a genuine, firsthand experience from the customer. Reviewed comments typically go live on the site within 24–48 hours. Currently, TripAdvisor has accumulated over 250 million reviews and opinions, reaching more than 375 million unique visitors worldwide each month.
