Spotting trends in Taiwan’s tourism boom, domestic and international hotel groups are expanding across the island. In the second half of 2015, Marriott Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Six Forks, The Miramar Hotel Taipei, and The Lefay Resort & SPA Daxi Taiyuan opened their doors. Here’s a brief introduction to Marriott Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Six Forks, The Miramar Hotel Taipei, and The Lefay Resort & SPA Daxi Taiyuan.

1. Marriott Hotel
Taipei Marriott Hotel began trial operations on August 24, 2015. Located near Miramar in Datong District, Taipei, it sits north of the Keelung River, offering sweeping views of the riverside. It is also currentlythe largest international convention and exhibition hotel in Taiwan, capable of accommodating 3,000 people simultaneously. Combining a hotel, convention center, shopping mall, and luxury residences, the property is surrounded by 60% green space, creating an urban oasis. During the trial period, room rates averaged around NT$7,000, with a total of 320 guest rooms.

2. Courtyard by Marriott Six Forks
Taipei Courtyard by Marriott Six Forks isthe first international brand hotel in Nangang, leveraging the convenience of its integrated railway connections.It features 465 rooms and 8 banquet halls.Zhuang Fengru, Chief Operating Executive Officer of LDC Group, noted that as an international brand, pricing can be set between NT$5,000 and NT$6,000; the room types are designed to attract younger business travelers. Being an American brand, the hotel also aims to capture a significant share of American guests.

3. The Miramar Hotel Taipei
The Miramar Hotel Taipei is located in Datong, near the Jiannan Rd. Station on the Brown Line of the Taipei Metro. It is close to the Neihu Technology Park and Nangang Software Park. Prepared by the Miramar Group, the hotel is set to open in October. With highly accessible transportation, it offers easy access to the Taipei World Trade Center and Taipei 101, as well as popular Taipei attractions such as the Miramar Ferris Wheel, National Palace Museum, and Shilin Night Market—making it a great new choice for travelers exploring Taipei.

4. The Lefay Resort & SPA Daxi Taiyuan
The Lefay Resort & SPA Daxi Taiyuan is expected to open in Q4 2015. It will offer 205 guest suites, all featuring the industry-renowned Heavenly Bed®. Additionally, it will include the Westin Kids Club—the newest and largest children’s club in the Asia-Pacific region within the Westin hotel system—and Taiwan’s only outdoor spa suite (with over 20 ping of space). There will be seven multifunctional meeting rooms and a grand ballroom and welcome area covering a total of 450 ping, designed with an open layout.
