What does a pineapple cake made with French chocolate and Guanmiao native pineapples taste like?

Is mooncake the only gift option for Mid-Autumn Festival? This year, Les Suites Grand Formosa Taipei breaks tradition by perfectly blending traditional Chinese techniques with Western chocolate craftsmanship. It has launched the first-ever “Chocolate Pineapple Cake Gift Box,” featuring 55% Ecuadorian chocolate from the top French chocolate brand Valrhona mixed with native pineapples from Guanmiao, Tainan. Each box contains 8 pieces, priced at NT$690. Pre-orders are now open at the “Chocolate Light Gallery.”

Additionally, online fashion retailer PAZZO has teamed up with the popular online French bakery “實日” to create the Lemon Moonlight Tart Gift Box. Using locally sourced Taiwanese fruits such as the old k pomelo from Madou and milk pineapples from Pingtung, the filling is homemade. The top layer features a refreshing lime mousse, layered with either homemade pomelo or pineapple jam, and a light almond tart base. Each set includes four tarts, priced at NT$490 (excluding shipping), with online orders starting September 15.
