President Ma once made it by hand: Taiwan Railways’ “Happy Rice

 In July this year during the "1st Railway Bento Festival 2015," the "Happiness Rice Ball" once hand-shaped by President Ma Ying-jeou will officially go on sale on the 15th. There are two flavors available, priced at NT$35 per piece. The white rice Happiness Rice Ball (meat) will have 100 portions, and the purple rice Happiness Rice Ball (vegetarian) will have 50 portions, with a total of 150 portions available daily as a limited offering.

Taiwan Railways stated that the "Happiness Rice Ball" tested for sale in July received positive feedback from the public, prompting the decision to launch it at breakfast bars to capture the breakfast market. The train-shaped white rice ball includes ingredients such as glutinous white rice, pork, marinated egg, dried tofu, pickled mustard greens, peanut powder, and seasonings; the triangular-shaped vegetarian rice ball is made with purple glutinous rice, king oyster mushrooms, burdock strips, tender ginger, vegetarian minced meat, and seasonings.
