Not just Hong Kong-style desserts — Hui Lau Shan’s Taiwan Flagship Store also offers radish cake and Korean fried chicken

Taiwan’s first Hui Lau Shan store, a 60-year-old Hong Kong-style dessert icon, is set to officially open on October 21 at Section 3, Nanjing East Road, Taipei City. The flagship store adopts the signage of Hui Lau Shan’s founding store in Yuen Long, recreating the classic look of its first herbal tea shop in Hong Kong’s Yuen Long from the 1960s. With 46 seats, the store features a simple yet textured interior in a goose-yellow color scheme. In addition to Hong Kong-style desserts, Hui Lau Shan’s Taiwan Flagship Store also offers light meals such as Hong Kong-style radish cake, Korean fried chicken, and savory country pies, ensuring you can fill up even after indulging in sweets.

Taiwan’s flagship store also features a globally exclusive limited edition — Super Mango with Small Tapioca Pearls. It uses seasonal mangoes that are sweet, juicy, and rich in flavor, paired with Taiwan’s famous “small tapioca pearls,” creating a delightful fusion of Hong Kong and Taiwanese tastes. In winter, a limited-edition winter-only Hong Kong-style congee will also be launched. Made through multiple grinding processes, you can choose between black sesame paste, walnut paste, or a combo of both, and you can also opt to add glutinous rice balls for a warm and comforting treat. Other warm and nourishing desserts include sweet fermented rice egg soup with glutinous rice balls.

Hui Lau Shan Taiwan also retains the brand’s classic 1960s-era traditional recipes such as “Lingzhi Turtle Jelly” and “Silver Chrysanthemum Herbal Tea,” as well as Hong Kong-style health-preserving seasonal stews. These combine classic Cantonese steamed egg whites with snow frog and bird’s nest wellness elements, along with fresh milk from local Taiwanese small farms, resulting in a rich, smooth texture that’s enjoyable hot or cold and suitable for all age groups.

During the trial operation period (before October 20), customers who make a purchase in-store, like and check in on social media, and upload to the fan page will receive one “Individual Mango Sago” exchange coupon, with a daily limited quantity of 200 cups.
