Japan Post strikes again with a collectible trap — limited-edition “Doraemon Stamp Set” comes with a free figurine

Japan Post frequently releases special postcards and themed stamps that have become popular alternative souvenirs, and now they’re setting another tempting trap for fans. To commemorate the 45th anniversary of Doraemon’s birth, Japan Post has launched aDoraemonCommemorative Stamp Set. In addition to the unique stamps, the set includes a Doraemon figurine holding a mailbox, and it’s now on sale.

According to Japan Post, the “Doraemon Commemorative Stamp Set” contains 10 stamps priced at 52 yen each. The stamps feature scenes from the original manga, such as Shizuka moved after reading a letter, and Nobita proudly showing off his stamp collection. The set is housed in a B5 folder.

Additionally, the stamp set comes with a Doraemon figurine holding the prop “mailbox that predicts replies,” standing about 7 cm tall. The entire commemorative set is priced at 4,000 yen, available for pre-order at post offices across Japan from now until November 16, with expected delivery starting January 28, 2016.
