In recent years, the late-night dining culture has flourished, with barbecue shops popping up like mushrooms after rain. The enticing aroma of grilled food paired with a cold beer makes it a relaxing spot for many office workers after a long day. In such a competitive market, a Chinese-style handmade skewer joint has managed to stand out and win us over with its exquisite craftsmanship—definitely worth sharing.

What started as a roadside barbecue stall at a night market, where the owner’s grilling skills quickly won over customers, finally got its own brick-and-mortar shop in early June this year. But with even fiercer competition in the barbecue scene, the shop insists on using handmade, fresh ingredients to tough it out.

The original food truck is still in use, clearly showing signs of wear from years of exposure to wind and rain. This place is the culmination of the owner couple’s hard work. The husband, who used to be a chef in Taipei, brings solid culinary skills. After returning, he chose to start anew with a roadside barbecue stall. Over the years, business has been doing well, and to provide a better dining environment, the owner decided to upgrade the long-running stall into a proper shop.

All the sauces and ingredients for the skewers are prepared by the owner alone. The meat is grilled from raw to cooked, unlike other night market stalls that pre-grill meat halfway and finish it when ordered. This one-step grilling method preserves the full freshness and flavor of the ingredients.

The indoor seating area, equipped with air conditioning, plays soft background music. The space is clean, comfortable, and bathed in dim lighting that sets the perfect mood for enjoying barbecue.

Drinks and alcoholic beverages are self-service, with payment settled all at once at the end.

The menu is broadly divided into four categories: skewers, fried foods, stir-fries, and hot pots. Since opening, the offerings have been continuously refined, and what remains are surely the shop’s signature dishes.

Customers can simply check off items on the table menu and hand it to the owner. When the shop first opened, only the owner couple was running it, preparing food fresh to order—so during busy times, a little patience is appreciated.

Miso clam and chicken soup 80 TWD

The sweetness of the clams and chicken shines through in the miso broth, offering layers of umami in every sip—great value for money.

After twenty skewers and fried dishes, we were truly amazed. Unwilling to settle for the ordinary, this meticulous owner develops everything—from sauces to flavors—themselves, all just to serve juicy skewers. When we asked for their secret, they simply said they grill the meat from raw to cooked. To us, it’s professional-level BBQ. Aside from the beef, we tried almost everything, and there’s nothing to complain about. We couldn’t not share these amazing skewers—they’re the juiciest and most tender we’ve had among the places we’ve tried. Definitely worth adding to your must-visit list.
