Typhoon Dujuan: Marine warning issued; Taroko National Forest Recreation Area to close from the 28th

Typhoon Dujuan is causing disruption during the Mid-Autumn holiday period. The Central Weather Bureau also issued a sea warning on the 27th. The Luodong Forest District Office under the Forestry Bureau announced that, considering the access roads to the Taroko National Forest Recreation Area—its managed site—are located in mountainous regions, involve long routes, and are vulnerable to strong winds and heavy rain, the area will be closed as a precaution starting September 28 for visitor safety. Visitors are urged not to go there to avoid danger.

In addition, all nature trails under the management of the Luodong Forest District Office will be closed: the Jiaoxi Horse-Racing Ancient Trail, Songluo Trail, Jiuliaoxi Nature Trail, Our Lady Mountain Hiking Trail, Quan Toumu Nature Trail, Xinliao Waterfall Trail, Chaoyang Trail, Su-Hua Ancient Trail – Danan’ao Crossing Section, Xindian Shitoushan Trail, and Jingualiao Fish and Fern Trail. Visitors are advised not to visit these areas.

The Central Weather Bureau also stated that a land warning for Typhoon Dujuan is expected to be issued at 5:30 p.m. on the 27th.
