TRA opens all non-reserved seats on Taroko and Puyuma trains heading north from eastern Taiwan on Sept. 28

In response to Typhoon Dujuan, Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) announced on the evening of Sept. 27 that, to facilitate the northbound return of eastern region residents during the Mid-Autumn holiday, all Taroko and Puyuma trains departing from Taitung and Hualien to the north on Sept. 28 will allow non-reserved seating in addition to reserved seats, Passengers who need to return north early and already hold valid Tze-Chiang tickets may choose suitable trains to board, but seat reservation will not be provided and no fare difference will be refunded.
TRA also stated that each station will appropriately control the number of passengers in non-reserved seating areas based on crowd flow. Passengers are urged to comply with station management measures. Additional trains may be dispatched as needed.
