Shihfen Waterfall Welcomes Autumn and Winter – Park Closing Time Moves Up One Hour Starting October 1

To align with winter hours, Shihfen Waterfall Park has adjusted its opening hours from October 1 to May 31, 2016. The park will open at 9:00 AM, with the last entry at 4:30 PM, and closing time set at 5:00 PM— one hour earlier than during summer hours.

The New Taipei City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau noted that Shihfen Waterfall Park operates different hours in summer and winter. During summer hours (June to September), the park opens at 9:00 AM, allows last entry at 5:30 PM, and closes at 6:00 PM. In winter hours (October to May), the opening time remains the same, but last entry and closing time are moved up by one hour. The bureau also reminds visitors that since the park is located in mountainous terrain, they should pay extra attention to safety when leaving in the evening.

Shihfen Waterfall Park boasts Taiwan’s largest curtain-style waterfall and charges no admission fee. It is a key attraction in New Taipei City, drawing many tourists from Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, and Korea. Common travel routes often include nearby attractions such as Eyeglass Cave Waterfall, Siguangtan Suspension Bridge, and Shihfen Old Street. Visitors can also take the Pingxi Branch Line train to Jingmei and Shihfen for an in-depth exploration of the Pingxi area.
