57 Harbor-Style Rooms | HowToTrip Kaohsiung Opens Mid-October

Emphasizing “exploring the beauty of world ports and Taiwan’s fishing harbors, extending the scenes of global city ports to every corner of the space,” Kaohsiung HowToTrip will officially openin mid-October, not only becoming a new landmark of the harbor city but also serving as anindustrial-styledesign hotel with a seaport theme, reflecting innovative and distinctive local travel experiences and a culturally creative boutique accommodation.

Guo Naiyu, marketing planner of HowToTrip, stated: “We aim to create a guest accommodation space where visitors can immerse themselves in the cultural backdrop of the harbor city in a unique way. The opening is scheduled for mid- to late October.”

Originally named Rehai Branch,HowToTrip is a newly designed hotel created through the renovation of an old lodging, blending ancient maritime concepts and oceanic aesthetics with modern interpretations of travel imagination. The interior design allows guests to feel the cultural stories conveyed throughout, with the narrative of the harbor extending floor by floor to different corners of the world.

The property has 8 floors and 57 guest rooms. Since beginning operations on June 9, it offers five room types: Juyi, Shangzhan, Lushun, Jiating, and HowToTrip.Featuring 21 world-famous seaports and 36 fishing harbors in “Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu,” the hotel has newly created 57 harbor-stylerooms. The guest rooms continue the overall design concept of the hotel, using nautical patterns and globe bookshelves as accents that connect to the ocean-themed space. Specially designed energy crystals in the rooms are intended for the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of travelers.

In terms of public facilities, the leisure floor is located on B1, featuring a sofa area and an industrial-style multifunctional lounge. The lounge’s “Dagou Book Collection” is designed in an industrial style, with the concept of books traveling across the seas to Dagou Port, giving second-hand books a new journey. Local DOMO Art Studio in Kaohsiung was also invited to collaborate with students to create a mural depicting the imagery of Kaohsiung Harbor.
