Dancers Dance with Light – The Largest Ever “Spherical Water Light Projection” Debuts in Taichung

The 2015 Taichung Light Art Festival launched Taiwan’s largest-ever “spherical water light projection show” on the 3rd, attracting thousands of spectators who packed the area around the Lake Center Pavilion in Taichung Park. Even the boats on the lake were fully booked, with no seats left. The light performance, combining dancers with a real-time interactive projection sphere, was widely praised by many as being of international caliber.

The Taichung City Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that this year’s Taichung Light Art Festival incorporates the elements of Time, Light, and Arts. Based on historical and cultural foundations, it integrates new media art and performance art. It also invited renowned dancer Lee Chieh-Hsin to interact with the light projections on a floating stage, performing two dances titled “Heart Wheel” and “Immersion,” which narrate the past and present of Taichung.
