?wo Reservoir is one of the large reservoirs in Liaoning Province. It is situated on the main stream of the Taizi River at the intersection of Liaoyang County, Dengta County, and Gongchangling District, about 40 kilometers from the city center, with a water surface area of 5,334 hectares. The Shewan Reservoir dam is majestic, and the reservoir water stretches endlessly, featuring beautiful natural scenery that varies with the seasons. The surrounding vegetation coverage exceeds 90%, with rare flowers, wild fruits, medicinal herbs, and more spread across the mountains and valleys.
Hares, pheasants, and wild geese can be found near ditches and water edges. The Shewan Reservoir Scenic Area includes several zones: the Mountain Gate Area, Service Area, Hiking Area, Wanghaiquan Temple, Comprehensive Recreation Area, Taizi River Tourist Area, and Yidan Mountain Scenic Area.
Shewan Reservoir was completed in 1973. It is located east of Nansha Village in Gongchangling District, Liaoyang City, along the middle section of the Taizi River's main stream. The reservoir dam stands 50.3 meters high and stretches 532 meters long. It is a reinforced concrete gravity dam with a water storage capacity of 791 million cubic meters. It serves as a comprehensive hydraulic hub project for flood control, irrigation, power generation, industrial water supply, and tourism development.
