Labudsi Monastery
Labudsi Monastery is said to have been founded by Qiangba Quedar, an incarnation of Milarepa, blending Tibetan and Nepalese architectural styles and boasting a history of over 400 years. The monastery's main statue is of Milarepa, which was sculpted in person by Rechungwa using clay mixed with the master's blood, saliva, and other substances, as requested by his disciples during his lifetime. It was also personally blessed by the master, making it highly sacred. When Milarepa passed away, six Sanskrit syllables spontaneously appeared on the stove stones used for cremating his body. These stones are enshrined in the Dukhang shrine.
