Hongqi Korean Ethnic Folk Village
Hongqi Korean Ethnic Folk Village is situated in Wanbao Town, Antu County, and is officially recognized as a Korean ethnic folk village by the provincial and prefectural authorities. Nestled along the picturesque Guandong River, where clear waters flow gently, the village enjoys flat terrain and a serene environment, with the Mingchang Highway running right through it. The village is home to over eighty Korean households that have preserved the age-old customs and traditions of the Korean ethnic group. The area offers a rich variety of distinctive local dishes such as dog meat soup, beef soup, river fish soup, seaweed soup, and soybean paste soup, all bursting with flavor and served alongside an array of crisp and refreshing pickled vegetables. Homemade rice wine, sake, and turbid liquor, along with specially prepared cold noodles, rice cakes, pine-flour pancakes, and barbecued specialties, are sure to whet your appetite and leave a lasting impression. Since 1994, leveraging its advantages in ethnic tourism resources and geographic location, the village has vigorously developed its tourism industry. Significant progress has been made in tourism infrastructure, including the construction of standard restrooms, the renovation of folk-style restaurants, the expansion of traditional Korean sports facilities such as swings, seesaws, and wrestling grounds, as well as the establishment of a shopping center selling local specialty products. Altogether, these developments have formed a comprehensive service system integrating transportation, sightseeing, dining, accommodation, shopping, and entertainment.

Known as China’s No. 1 Korean Ethnic Village, it lies along the main route from Yanji to Changbai Mountain, and all 86 households in the village are of Korean ethnicity. Here, visitors can not only take part in the making of traditional Korean foods such as rice cakes, rice sausages, and pickled vegetables, but also experience Korean sports and games like seesaw jumping and swing playing. Even more exciting is the village’s “Korean Ethnic Folk Performance Theater,” which can accommodate over 300 people and features professional Korean ethnic singers and dancers performing authentic Korean songs and dances. These performances offer visitors a well-rounded insight into Korean ethnic culture and a chance to immerse themselves in its unique folk traditions.
