Tianjin Quanye Mansion

　　      Introduction     The Tianjin Quanye Mansion is located at No. 290 Heping Road, Heping District, Tianjin. It was planned in 1926, opened in 1928, and had its sixth and seventh floors added in 1931 to serve as a theater and other entertainment facilities. It is a well-known historic department store in Tianjin.

　　　　Designed by French architect Paul Muller of the French engineering firm Yonghe, the building features a classical eclectic architectural style with a floor area of 21,000 square meters. The plaque reading “Tianjin Quanye Mansion” was inscribed by the renowned Tianjin calligrapher Hua Shikui and has been designated as one of China’s Famous Historical Signboards by the state. In 1956, it became a public-private joint venture, merged with the neighboring Tianxiang Department Store in 1958, and in 1992, the Tianjin Quanye Mansion Co., Ltd. was established, becoming the first joint-stock enterprise in Tianjin’s commercial sector.
