Tomb of Emperor Jade Ridge

The Tomb of Emperor Jade Ridge is located about 300 meters southwest of Yuhuangling Village, Houfang Township. Originally an earthen mound, it was 3 meters high and covered an area of 1,500 square meters. In 1959, during the construction of a perimeter dike around the village, the mound was leveled, exposing the tomb’s roof. A hanging coffin suspended from beams was discovered inside the burial chamber, after which it was reburied with soil. Today, the site of the tomb is slightly elevated above ground level and has been cultivated as farmland. Legend says the tomb belonged to Yan Song, a powerful prime minister of the Ming Dynasty, though there is no historical evidence to confirm this. In 1957, 1976, and 1977, the tomb was designated as a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit under the name “Yan Song’s Tomb” by the People's Committee of Shandong Province and the Revolutionary Committee of Henan Province, respectively.
