0The Site of the Former Shaannan Special Committee of the CPC is located within Longgang Temple in Aiguo Village, Liangshan Town, Nanzheng County.

In 1927, following the failure of the revolution, Duan Zhongsun, Zhao Bosheng, Xie Zuomin, Wang Zhiming, and Zhou Binru were dispatched back to Hanzhong via Shanghai, Tianjin, Beiping, and other places respectively, where they formed the Nanzheng Group to propagate Marxism-Leninism and carry out revolutionary activities such as party-building. Subsequently, Liu Jiasan was introduced by the Hubei Provincial Committee to return to Shaanxi Province and go to

Nanzheng to assist in establishing the Shaannan Special Committee. Liu Jiasan served as the secretary, Yi Hou’an as the organizational committee member, and Chen Yuting as the publicity committee member. In the summer of 1930, Liang Yitang, Jia Tuofu, and Yang Weisan, Yang Guoguang, Liu Shunyuan, Zhang Mingyuan, Liu Ying, Zhang Desheng, Zhang Qing, and Yang San, who were dispatched by the Shaannan Special Committee, held the First Congress of the Shaannan Special Committee at Longgang Temple in our county. The meeting decided to shift the focus of the Party's organization from urban to rural areas, vigorously organize people's armed forces to encircle cities from the countryside, and establish revolutionary bases. In the summer of 1933, Liu Shunyuan and Zhang Desheng presided over the Fourth Meeting of the Shaannan Special Committee at Chenjia (the second meeting was held at Qianming Temple on Zhongliang Mountain and the third at Longgang Temple, respectively addressing issues such as welcoming the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army and establishing the 29th Red Army). Following this Party congress, the Party organizations in our county and across Hanzhong developed rapidly, the people's armed forces were greatly strengthened, and the revolutionary struggle gradually deepened. The Fourth Front Army of the Red Army successfully passed through Shaanxi into Sichuan, establishing the "Sichuan-Shaanxi Revolutionary Base Area" and setting up seven county, district, and township Soviet governments. This also facilitated the achievement of an oral "non-aggression" agreement between the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army and the 38th Army (17th Route Army), the creation of a red communication line, and the linkage of communications between the central, provincial, and regional authorities with the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army. It enhanced the unity between the Third Red Guerrilla Unit and the Nanzheng People’s Defense Brigade, and established a consolidated base guerrilla force (i.e., the Bashan Guerrilla Unit). With the support and assistance of the awakened people of Hanzhong and northern Sichuan, this people's armed force tenaciously fought against the enemy until 1940, laying a solid foundation for the victory of the national revolution.
