The park is home to a diverse range of rare birds and animals, and grows various edible fungi and medicinal herbs, making its wildlife and plant resources extremely rich. Artificial lakes, corridors, European-style buildings, Mongolian yurts, and xierenzhu (traditional conical tents) form a uniquely picturesque natural landscape combined with culturally distinctive human elements. The national first-class protected cultural relic, Gaxian Cave, is situated on a towering 100-meter-high granite cliff within the park. It is the site of the ancient “stone chamber” dwelling of the Xianbei ancestors of the Northern Wei Dynasty’s Tuoba clan. On the left wall inside the cave, there is a stone-carved ancestral worship inscription left by Tuoba Tao, who sent his minister Li Chang to conduct rituals here in 443 AD. The inscription consists of 19 lines and 201 characters in Chinese clerical script, dating back over 1,550 years. The park offers a variety of recreational activities, such as ethnic song and dance performances, crossbow shooting, wildlife viewing, dining, amusement park rides, cave exploration, karaoke, boating, hiking for panoramic views, and fishing. The best visiting season is from May to the end of October. The park is fully equipped with tourism service facilities, with the peak tourist seasons being spring, summer, and autumn. It receives around 20,000 domestic and international visitors annually.
